HOW COACHING WORKS


We specialize in face-to-face, telephone and Internet–based coaching to suit the needs of my clients. All of these modes of communication work well and will allow us to keep to our schedule of coaching conversations.

Initially we can meet in person or by telephone for a complimentary introductory coaching session where will talk about coach-coachee confidentiality, how our coaching relationship will work in practice, and the coaching agreement and fee structure.

At this initial meeting we will spend some time getting to know each other and understanding your current concerns and challenges that have drawn you to talk to a coach.

If by the end of the meeting we believe that we are a good-match and that it would be worthwhile to enter into a coaching relationship we will move to the next step.

Our formal coaching agreement will include an initial face-to-face or telephone-coaching conversation that will last for 1-1/2 hours. This meeting will be followed by meetings that that will take place every three weeks over a six-month period for a total.

These conversations will typically last for one-hour. E-mail communication between meetings is welcomed.

Experience shows that it takes time for the results of coaching to be realized. Many clients experience immediate short-term benefits and sustainable outcomes can be realized in the four- to six month window.

Many coaching relationships extend beyond this timeframe on a suitable schedule. Some of these relationships even evolve to a mentoring relationship.

During the course of our coaching relationship we will discuss the potential benefits of participating in individual assessments to build self-awareness, competency, and skills.

These assessments can provide nuanced information about personality type, emotional intelligence and personal development. This information can build both self-awareness and practical skills as part of the learning process that is experienced through coaching.

The fees for coaching will be billed in advance in increments of three sessions. The cost of assessments will also be billed in advance. Fees for additional sessions are billed on a mutually agreed schedule.
